We just got in three new lines of cosmo cricket paper: Hello Sunshine, Cogsmo, and Get Happy.  Also: new blackboard books and blackboard pieces!

4th of July Card Project

Step One: Gather Materials

• Blank Card
• Blue Paper (we used Gypsy Paisley - Indigo from Daisy D's)
• Red Paper (we used Print - Cream/Red from Mustard Moon)
• Piece of White Cardstock
• Squard Punch or Paper Cutter
• Adhesive
• Pop Dots (optional)

Step Two: Cut a star from the White Cardstock. We used the diecut machine in the store which is available for customer use. Cut squares from the Blue and Red Paper using a square punch or paper cutter. For a 5.5 x 4.25 inch card we used 3/4 inch square punch. 9 blue squares and 21 red squares.

Step Three: Adhere squares to card to form an American Flag. Laying out the squares before attaching to the card helps with spacing. Adhere the white star over the blue squares. For added texture we used pop dots to adhere the star and random squares.

Squash Book

When you open a Squash Book you will have an "explosion" of photos right at your finger tips. And when you're done looking at your photos simply "squash" it back together and secure it shut with a ribbon. You can make a squash book for a gift or just something to show off some recent pictures of your kids and/or family. Cost: $25

Crop Craze

Bring your crafts projects and spend 6 hours creating, learning , and getting out of the house.  Sign up with a friend and get 1/2 price for both participants!  Cost: $12

ATC Backgrounds

In this techniques driven class we will learn 7 fabulous ATC backgrounds by experimenting with Paper towels, watercolor inks, Acrylic Paints, Metal Tape, Embossing Powders, Rubberstamps and your cast off paper scraps. Each student will walk out with an ATC sized tag book of background samples to use for future reference. Please bring any ATC sized images and embellishments you would like to use or use mine. Cost: $45

Altered Book Club

So, why alter books? Because it's fun!  Everyone works on their own projects at their own speed.  We share ideas and tools in a comfortable, creative space. Join the fun! Cost: $10

Kids Class

The kids are out of school! Time to come in to Luna's and create, play, have fun. Ask your friends to join you. Bring your scrapbooking. Hang out with your friends working on your own projects with mini lessons given during crop. Intended for 7 - 12 year olds. Cost: $12

Christmas Card Class

Christmas in July! Does December come around and you never have enough time to make that special little gift card or thank you note? Well, come to this class and be prepared for the holidays! You will make 20 holiday themed note cards that will be perfect for gift cards, thank you notes or holiday greetings. Please bring your cutter and adhesive and we'll supply everything else. Cost: $35.00

Tin Ornaments

What do you get when you combine a fancy tin mold, Alcohol Inks, Collage, a ribbon and lots of sparkle? A Christmas Ornament of course! Come in to Luna's and make a truly unique Christmas Ornament perfect for Christmas in July! This is altered art at it's best! Cost: $35 (includes all supplies needed)

Collage II

Come and learn the art of collage with an incredibly talented, published, local artist. Collage I is the prerequisite for this advanced class with this teacher. Supplies to bring: "junk", any photos,  or pictures. Connie will also be providing a plethora of materials. Cost: $55

Altered Cookie Sheet Advent Calendar

This wonderfully creative metal calendar will mark the days from Dec. 1 to Dec. 25 in altered style. Bring any favorite Christmas images (or use mine), alcohol inks (if you own them),  adhesive and scissors. Everything else will be provided! The class was inspired by the tutorial at this link, but we'll put our own spin on it! Cost: $30.00

Birthday Card Project

For our first monthly free class we'll teach you how to make a cute birthday card from Katie's class.

Step One: Gather materials

• Blank Card
• Maroon Cardstock (cut to the size of the card and smaller rectangle piece)
• Cake and Ice Cream Paper from Basic Grey (cut slightly smaller than maroon cardstock)
• Yellow Cardstock (cut into rectangle large enough for stamp images)
• 2 brads
• 2 flowers
• Birthday Image Stamp
• Birthday Sentiment Stamp
• Tim Holtz Fired Brick Distress Ink
• Adhesive

Step Two: Stamp Birthday image and sentiment onto yellow cardstock. Adhere yellow cardstock onto small maroon rectangle. Attatch flowers with brad.

Step Three: Adhere ice cream paper onto the maroon cardstock and then onto the front of the card. Adhere stamped yellow cardstock with flowers onto the front of the card.

"Bon Voyage" . . .

I am soon off to many "Lands of Dreamy Dreams".  Next week, my family and I are off for a month long trip to Europe (Paris, Budapest and Venice).  While travelling, I like to try and remain creative, and I'm looking for ideas for ways to do that on the road.  In the past, I've brought a sketch pad and pencils or some stamped images, a waterbrush and my twinkling H2O's.  This year, I'm thinking about bringing some stamped art doll images and pieces that I might be able to adorn with emphemera gathered on the road.  What do you think?  Too ambitious?  Do you have any great ideas for creative pursuits while on the road?

By the way, if you like my collages, "Bon Voyage" and "Lands of Dreamy Dreams," think about taking Connie's collage classes this summer.  That's where I created these two canvases.

Card Class Tuesday, 6/10

I just wanted to remind everyone that I'm having a card class this coming Tuesday, June 10 from 6 to 9pm.  The original description of the class was Father's Day and Graduation cards, but I know not everyone needs these specific types of cards.   You will have the option with several of the cards to make them what you need them to be.....birthday, graduation, thank you, etc.  I'm hoping everyone will go home with 8 cards~if time allows!  I hope you can join me next Tuesday!
