Variety in PreCrop Prep Layouts

So, are you intrigued by the PreCrop Prep idea but worried it won't work for you?  Check this out.

Here's one of the layouts I'm planning to teach:

I think it would be cute for back to school pictures.  It accomdates 5x7 photos or 4x6.  Not your style?  Change the paper, and you can make this layout:

Don't think you have the right pictures to fit this format?  You might be surprised by how easy it is to crop things.  In addition, most of the time, there is paper left over to make additional mats, and you can change things around.  Here's a totally different layout with the same format:

I turned the left page 90 degrees, added mats and placed several pictures on some of he mats. Used journaling and embellishments, instead of pictures on some of the little squares and used four of the little squares as one big mat for a picture! The possibilities really are endless.  By the way, can you guess the subject matter of the third layout?  It's a "goulash party" in Budapest - how cool is that???

Come Crop with Us!

Starting in September, the monthly crop is moving to Saturday evenings. If you haven't been to a Luna's crop lately, this is a great time to get back in the habit.  I'm also very excited about the "Pre Crop Preparation Class" I'm offering before the class.  More to follow later, but, here's a sneak peek at two of the four double-page layouts you can make at the Pre-Crop Prep.  The beauty of the class is that you can bring your own paper in the styles or themes that fit your photos and create layouts based on these sketches.  Or, you can purchases a paper pack with the sample papers. If you plan to bring your own papers, check the last blog post for the papers you will need.

Pre-Crop Prep List for September

If you are going to provide your own paper, please bring the following:

(1) for layout 1, two 12x12 pieces of patterned paper, two 12x12 solid pieces of cardstock in a coordinating (but different) solid colors (four pieces total – 2 patterned and 2 solid, in 2 colors);

(2) for layout 2, two solid color 12x12 cardstock, one 12x12 cardstock in a coordinating solid color and one 12x12 patterned paper in a coordinating color (four pieces total – 3 solid and 1 patterned);

(3) for layout 3, two pieces of identical 12x12 patterned paper, one 12x12 piece of patterned paper in a coordinating color/pattern, two different 12x12 solid pieces of cardstock in coordinating but different colors (five pieces total – 3 patterned, in 2 different patterns, and 2 solid, in 2 different colors);

(4) for layout 4, two solid color 12x12 cardstock, two pieces of identical 12x12 patterned paper in a coordinating color, two different 12x12 solid pieces of cardstock in coordinating (but different) colors (six pieces total – 4 solid, in 3 colors, and 2 patterned).

I'm back from Budapest & already scrapping!

We had a fabulous time in Budapest!

How did I get so many layouts done already?  My secret was having a stack of completed blank layouts ready for me to embellish and add pictures to when I returned.  Many people doubt that you can start with blank layotus and make your pictures "work," but my album is proof that it works! Starting with the September crop at Luna's, I'll be teaching layouts using these technique during the hour before the crop starts, so you, too, can get your pictures in to albums.

New Idea at Luna's

Hi everyone!  I can't believe it's August!!

Maria and I were talking about fun stuff to do in the store - as we were driving together to our Tim Holtz class.  We had an idea of doing a scrapbook class right before a crop.  Then class participants can sign up for the crop and stay to work on the class techniques.  For example, in September we will have Maria teaching a technique that will help you do 8 scrapbook pages in one hour!!  She will start that at 5:00 pm and then the crop will start at 6:00 pm and go until midnight!  What a great way to catch up on some scrapbooking and have fun too!

We are also going to try moving the crop to Saturday night!  Keep your eyes on the September schedule for more details.
